She started watching Ryan when I returned to work when he was 3 months old. She and Ryan had a very special bond, and it was very hard to move 45 minutes from her when we moved from our first house to The Woodlands when Ryan was almost 3. She remained in our lives, coming to birthday parties, and watching the kids for me when I had meetings near her. As time went on, I would make special trips so she could see the kids. Then when Lauren was born, she welcomed her as if she had the same connection she had with Ryan. Lauren loves her too, and always wants to go to Betty's with Ryan. And Betty has been such a good friend to me. So, we found time for the kids to spend an afternoon with her before we left.
Betty knows she is always welcome in our house....and we joke that she will fly to Colorado to see snow. She is a true Southern Lady, with a think accent, and a heart of gold. I was so fortunate to find her. We look forward to seeing her when we visit Houston!
Here are some pictures from over the years.
